Our S.4 student, Hung Hing-hey, has been selected for the 'Young Astronaut' program and will undergo training in Beijing and Jiuquan.
2026-07-18

Our school's S.4 student Hung Hing Hey stood out in the three rounds of the "Youth Astronaut Experience Camp 2026" selection process with outstanding performance, becoming one of the 30 "Youth Astronauts."

The camp is co-organized by the LCSD and the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce of Hong Kong. This year marks its fifteenth edition and will visit Beijing, Jiuquan, Xi'an, and other key national space science and astronomy facilities such as the China Astronaut Research and Training Center and the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. The content is truly remarkable.

As departure approached, Hing Hey could hardly hide his anticipation: "This was my first time participating in a training camp lasting over a week, and I was both nervous and excited. Just thinking about the upcoming departure to the Jiuquan Space Launch Base and the chance to meet astronauts who have participated in space missions and return to Earth makes me especially excited. I'm also very much looking forward to experiencing some of the training astronauts have before going to space, such as the centrifuges used for astronaut training. I hope to get the chance to ride and experience it."

Congratulations to Hing Hey on this rare opportunity, and wishing him a smooth journey, a fruitful return, and a brilliant and unforgettable chapter in his secondary school life.
