Last Friday, our Principal, Ms. Ng, was invited to join RTHK Radio 2’s popular show "Crazy and Happy," engaging in a lively battle of wits with the hosts during the classic "Friday Quiz" segment. In addition to sharing stories about the warm and vibrant campus life at our school, Principal Ng brought a special "challenge"—a collection of fun and intriguing questions meticulously prepared by our Student Union Chairperson and the four House Captains, setting off a thrilling brainpower showdown with the hosts. Displaying remarkable creativity and intellect, our student leaders posed questions that were both entertaining and thought-provoking, such as "Which animal in the world has the most teeth?" and "Which sense is the least sensitive while sleeping?". While successfully stumping the hosts, they also brought immense joy to the audience tuned in across the airwaves. To wrap up the show, Principal Ng and the student leaders dedicated Terence Lam's song "Just Carry On" to all SKH Bishop Baker Secondary School students, delivering their most heartfelt encouragement through the power of music.
With the Second Term Examination commencing next week, Principal Ng and the student leaders seized this song dedication as a wonderful opportunity to inspire and motivate all students currently deep in exam preparation. The Principal expressed her understanding that challenges are an inevitable part of the learning journey, noting that feeling stressed before exams is entirely normal. However, she firmly reminded every student that their worth is never defined by exam scores or homework performance, as each individual is a unique and priceless treasure in this world. Just as the lyrics echo, "You and I are unique flowers," every student possesses a distinct seed within their heart. There is no need to compare ourselves with others; we only need to focus on nurturing our own blossoms. The student leaders also added their words of encouragement, reminding their peers that if they ever feel exhausted or overwhelmed amidst their hectic schedules, they should pause, take a step back, and take a deep breath. By maintaining a "Just Carry On" mindset—continuing to water themselves, soak up the sunshine, and fertilize their minds daily—the magnificent sea of flowers from their dreams will, before they know it, bloom beautifully before their eyes.
