Triumphant Victory on the National Stage: SKHBBSS Graduates Clinch Second Prize in the Grand Final of the 1st National Youth Artificial Intelligence Competition
At S.K.H. Bishop Baker Secondary School, we are steadfast in promoting interdisciplinary scientific innovation and gifted education, continuously empowering our students to broaden their horizons and push beyond their boundaries. In July, our recent Secondary 6 graduates—MA Ying Yuen, CHAN Lok Tung, NG Hau Ying, and WEN Chun Fai—were selected to represent Hong Kong in the Grand Final of the 1st National Youth Artificial Intelligence Competition. Competing in the "Youth Embodied Intelligence Competition" category, our students distinguished themselves with outstanding scientific inquiry, exemplary teamwork, and commendable poise under pressure, proudly clinching the national Second Prize. Their remarkable achievement on this prestigious national platform brings great honour to both Hong Kong and our school community. This tremendous success is also a testament to the dedicated mentorship and guidance of Mr Li Chi Shing, who has tirelessly cultivated students' passion and potential in technological exploration throughout the years.
Commissioned by The Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education (HKAGE) and organised by the Hong Kong New Generation Cultural Association, the Hong Kong delegation participated across four major national science competitions, with the Hong Kong Regional Award Presentation Ceremony held on 19 September. MA Ying Yuen and WEN Chun Fai attended the ceremony as school representatives to receive this esteemed commendation. During the occasion, our students had the privilege of meeting Mr Wong Chung Po, Acting Executive Director of the HKAGE, who was one of the officiating guests. Having previously served on the teaching faculty at BBSS, Mr Wong has always maintained a caring and close connection with his alma mater. Seeing our younger generation represent Hong Kong on the nation's premier stage and return with such remarkable accolades brought him immense pride and delight. In an inspiring dialogue, Mr Wong encouraged both students to persevere in their scientific journey, maintaining their passion and resilience to contribute to the nation's development and the betterment of humanity.
The radiant success of our students on the national stage not only reflects their years of hard work and commitment, but also highlights the enduring spirit of heritage and mentorship that defines our school community.
