S3 Community Service Project: Heritage Preservation & Community Care
Our Secondary 3 students recently participated in the ‘Community Service Project’, putting into practice the school's spirit of caring for the underprivileged and giving back to society.
During the event, students from each class were divided into 4 groups to visit needy children in our community. To ensure the children had a fulfilling and meaningful time, our students meticulously prepared a wide array of engaging activities:
• Chinese Cultural Drama: A captivating performance of traditional idiom stories rich in Chinese cultural elements, blending education with entertainment.
• Interactive Games: Icebreakers and group games designed to break the barriers and build meaningful friendships with the children.
• Traditional Arts & Crafts Workshop: A hands-on session guiding children to create Dunhuang caisson-patterned paper fans, Peking Opera masks, rubbing-printed drawstring pouches, and miniature models of traditional Chinese architecture.
This project not only brought warmth and joy to the children in our community but also allowed our Secondary 3 students to deepen their understanding of Chinese culture through hands-on practice. By experiencing the value of cultural inheritance, students successfully raised their awareness of safeguarding cultural security and heritage.
