Our school Careers Guidance Section recently organized the "S5 Mock Interview Workshop," aimed at helping Secondary 5 students, who are approaching critical decisions regarding their higher education, gain early exposure to the university admissions process. The core objective of the activity was to provide students with a firsthand experience of a realistic interview atmosphere. This allowed them to overcome the psychological barrier of facing unfamiliar examiners and, through practical drills, master essential skills in self-introduction, group discussion, and handling unpredictable questions, thereby laying a solid foundation for future admission interviews.
The workshop yielded fruitful results. Through the mock simulations, participating students not only sharpened their oral expression and logical thinking skills, but also received professional, guidance-oriented feedback from mentors. This gave them a clear understanding of their strengths and weaknesses in areas such as eye contact, pacing, and content structuring. Furthermore, the event helped students master structured answering strategies, enabling them to showcase their personal strengths in a more organized manner. Overall, the workshop successfully boosted students' confidence, provided them with a more concrete understanding of university entrance requirements, and effectively inspired their academic and preparation plans for the coming year.
