This Sign Language Workshop invited an instructor from the Hong Kong Association of the Deaf to explain the origins and development of sign language to S1 and S2 students. Through an interview session between students and the hearing-impaired guest, students gained a deeper understanding of the challenges and needs faced by the hearing-impaired community. Furthermore, students had the opportunity to enjoy a sign language song performed by the sign language class (S2 first-term group leaders) and learn simple sign language from the hearing-impaired guest. This activity successfully enhanced the students' understanding of the hearing-impaired community. It taught them to respect and care for this group, while highlighting the vital importance of building a harmonious community.
