Cantonese Opera Appreciation

To explore the Anglican missionary heritage in Hong Kong, our S.2 students visited Holy Trinity Cathedral, the oldest Cathedral in Kowloon. During the visit, students learned how the Cathedral’s design uniquely integrates Chinese architectural elements with Christian faith. A key highlight was the creative use of doves to replace the auspicious beasts typically found on traditional Chinese roof ridges. Seeing these Christian symbols presented through classical palace architecture was an eye-opening experience for the students, offering a fresh perspective on cultural and religious harmony.
