Foreword
The "World Day for Cultural Diversity Fun Fair" was organised by English Department on Thursday, 19 March 2026. Hosted by the English Club cum English Ambassadors Programme (English Department) and School Language Ambassadors (supported by SCOLAR and EDB), English Ambassadors led senior form students (S4-S6) through English-medium interactive games to explore festivals, cultures, landmarks, traditional foods, costumes and customs of three countries, fostering appreciation and respect for cultural diversity. Junior form students participated in the World Trivia Game outside at the prize redemption booth and will join the full fun fair in May.
Event Details
The event took place in the Multi-purpose Activity Centre during recess and lunchtime. Senior form students participated in English game booths such as landmark archery, food vocabulary fishing, traditional costume trials and henna trials. The tasting corner (lunchtime only) featured Mongolian butter milk tea, Pakistani pani puri and Scottish shortbread. Students practised English by following instructions, speaking full sentences and matching vocabulary, collecting stamps to redeem prizes.
Conclusion
The event enabled students to use English joyfully while deepening cultural diversity understanding and promoting school inclusivity. English Department and English Ambassadors Programme look forward to more such events to enhance students' language skills and global awareness.
