Baker’s Evergreen Elder Academy- Calligraphy
This project, sponsored by the Elder Academy Development Foundation, seeks to encourage active participation of older adults in activities and lessons, promote intergenerational harmony through the dual learn-and-teach roles within Elder Academy programmes, and advance the concept of lifelong learning.
We are honored to have Principal Law Ching-bor serve as the instructor for this course. Principal Law is a senior Hong Kong educator and renowned calligrapher. His work has twice been selected for inclusion in the "National Exhibition of Calligraphy and Seal Engraving of China" (NECSE), hailed as the "Olympics of the Calligraphy World." He was also invited to engrave his calligraphy on the "China Changde Poetry Wall," where it is permanently etched in history.
A disciple of masters like Ouyang Zhongshi and Zhao Shaoang, Principal Law specializes in the study and education of calligraphy. Proficient in both brush and pen techniques, he is dedicated to promoting "Calligraphy as Spiritual Practice.
Students had the privilege of participating in this activity, learning from Principal Law to create "福" spring couplets. Beyond deepening their appreciation for Chinese calligraphy arts, the experience fostered inner peace and cultivated character.
