Aim: Impromptu Speaking workshops are funded by a territory-wide project on the promotion of the English language, which is entitled "English Alliance", aims to provide secondary school students with pleasurable English language learning experiences so as to arouse their interest in the language, help them to develop an appreciation of the language, and to boost their confidence in using the language. The two Impromptu Speaking workshops provide a chance for S5 students to give a short speech with little or no preparation. Students play language games, and give impromptu short talk in the workshops to share their ideas and life experience with their fellow students.
