Flag-raising Ceremony and Speech Under the National Flag

During the morning assembly, as the national flag rose slowly, we held a simple yet solemn flag-raising ceremony. In the speech under the national flag, teachers explained the historical origins of "Victory Day of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression" and reviewed that tragic yet heroic history. Subsequently, all teachers and students bowed their heads and stood in silent tribute. This solemn moment was to mourn the martyrs who bravely sacrificed their lives during the war and the innocent compatriots who perished. The ceremony served as a reminder to all teachers and students to never forget the history of the Chinese nation's struggle to defend its territorial sovereignty and integrity. It also encouraged students to learn from history, remember the past, and cherish the peace we have today.

Watching the 2025 China Victory Day Parade

Following this, teachers and students watched the live broadcast of the "Conference to Commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War." During the September 3rd military parade, teachers and students witnessed the motherland's rapid development, advances in various technologies and national defense capabilities, and the neat, uniform formations of soldiers and military units with magnificent momentum, allowing them to feel the heroic bearing of the motherland's armed forces. Students came to understand that only a strong nation can ensure family security, and only with the strong backing of the country can the welfare and safety of every citizen be guaranteed.

Visit to the 80th Anniversary of Anti-War Victory Experience Center

In the afternoon, school teachers led students to visit the 80th Anniversary of Anti-War Victory Experience Center located on Shap Pat Heung Road in Yuen Long. The experience center focuses on the historical event of the "Secret Great Rescue." The Secret Great Rescue began on December 25, 1941, when Hong Kong fell, and lasted for 11 months. It successfully rescued approximately 800 people, including democratic figures, cultural personalities, intellectual youth, and their families, making significant contributions to the War of Resistance Against Japan. The "Secret Great Rescue" was closely connected to local Yuen Long residents, with one key transit station located in Tai Tong, Yuen Long, making our students feel a special connection and familiarity with this historical event. Through precious historical photographs and immersive exhibitions, the center allowed students to truly experience the wisdom and courage displayed by their predecessors in resisting Japanese invasion. During the experience, teachers and students actively exchanged ideas, and students even wore period clothing to appreciate the hardships of their predecessors, gaining a deeper understanding of this period of resistance history.

Conclusion

Through this series of activities, our school hopes to help students understand the sacrifices made by martyrs for the country, cultivate a spirit of service and sacrifice for the nation and society, and ultimately become good Chinese citizens with burning patriotic sentiments.
