Peace be with you! As time swiftly passes, we together welcome the 2026–2027 new academic year. Blessed by God’s abundant grace and guidance, I am deeply grateful to all parents for your enduring trust and partnership with the school. It is my privilege to stand hand-in-hand with our dedicated teaching team to provide quality holistic education for young people, grounded in our Anglican mission. We are committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive and harmonious learning environment that strives for excellence – empowering youngsters to affirm the value of life, pursue healthy growth, and joyfully live out a life full of faith, hope, and love.
This academic year marks the second year of the school’s 3-year Development Plan (2025–28). We will continue to adopt the theme “Strengthen Digital Education ‧ Practise Healthy Habits” while further deepening our two major concerns: (1) to enhance the effectiveness of teaching and learning with digital education, and (2) to nurture healthy and positive citizens full of national pride and global perspective. Building upon the foundation laid in the first year, we will further integrate digital technologies to broaden students' learning horizons and boost learning and teaching efficiency. This year, we officially joined the Jockey Club AI Education Programme (JC GoAI), empowering students with a top-tier AI platform to enhance the efficacy of learning. Meanwhile, in response to the Education Bureau's '4Rs Mental Health Charter,' we strive to balance technological exploration with students’ physical and mental well-being, helping them build positive daily habits and nurturing them into healthy, well-rounded citizens with a strong sense of national pride and a global perspective.
In the face of the rapidly evolving digital era, while we are committed to enhancing students' digital learning capabilities, we place equal emphasis on their information literacy and holistic well-being. Therefore, we cordially invite all parents to partner closely with us in guiding our children to stay vigilant and use technology wisely on their journey to becoming responsible digital citizens. Let’s guide our children to view artificial intelligence (AI) as a helpful companion in learning and daily life (making AI a capable assistant) rather than blindly shifting their academic responsibility onto technology or risking their future and life to AI (never letting AI become their opponent).
To promote holistic well-being, we invite parents to implement the “4Rs mental health charter” at home too: Rest – ensure children maintain 8 to 10 hours of sufficient sleep every day; Relaxation – encourage children to engage in moderate relaxing activities regularly to relieve academic and life stress; Relationship – build harmonious and quality parent-child as well as peer relationships, reserving at least 20 minutes of quality communication time each day; Resilience – stand by our children through life’s challenges with optimism and positivity to build their resilience.
"Train children in the right way, and when old, they will not stray." (Proverbs 22:6). May God continue to bless our work and allow us to accompany each young person as they grow and flourish. May S.K.H. Bishop Baker Secondary School be one to glorify His name and bring blessings to all those who come. Amen.
